Deprecated starting from 2025-12-31

With a view to the internationalisation of the service, the European VAT API has been replaced by the new EU Start endpoint in the API Company where further services dedicated to business information of Italian companies and, shortly, of all European countries will be available.   The documentation will no longer be updated and the API will be deprecated on 31/12/2025.  Proceed with the migration from API European VAT to Company in seconds!


European VAT allows you to obtain information about any European company via API and in real time, simply by using the VAT registration number and its country code as a parameter.

Specifically, the information that can be accessed via the European VAT service is
  • VAT number validity check / VAT registration number 
  • company name
  • registered office
Information on the validity of the VAT registration number is available for all current 27 EU member states, even for companies not registered with VIES.

 Due to data protection, some national authorities may not make the name and address corresponding to a VAT registration number available. In this case, the API will only confirm whether a given VAT number is valid or not and will not be able to provide information on company name and registered office.
